Trailer towing (except
for South Africa)
Toyota does not recommend
towing a trailer with your vehi-
cle. Toyota also does not rec-
ommend the installation of a
tow hitch or the use of a tow
hitch carrier for a wheelchair,
scooter, bicycle, etc. Your vehi-
cle is not designed for trailer
towing or for the use of tow
hitch mounted carriers.

Trailer towing (for South
Africa)
The strain of towing a trailer
will have a negative impact on
the running performance, han-
dling, fuel consumption and
endurance of your vehicle. Use
the vehicle features in the cor-
rect manner and operate the
vehicle with care for safer driv-
ing and optimal comfort. Dam-
age and/or malfunctions that
occur as a result of towing per-
formed for commercial pur-
poses are not covered by the
Toyota warranty.
Contact your Toyota dealer for
further information about addi-
tional requirements such as
towing kits, etc.
Weight limits
Check the following allowable tow-
ing capacity before towing.
 GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) and
permissible drawbar load
(P.654)
 MPAC (Maximum Permissible
Axle Capacity) (P.654)
Towing hitch/bracket
Toyota recommends the use of the
Toyota hitch/bracket for your vehi-
cle. Other products of a suitable
nature and comparable quality may
