3. If you cannot find the character on the display,
scroll through choices in the Character Selection
field by pressing the Down key. To move back,
press the Up key.
When the character you are typing appears in
the Character Selection field, you may select it,
without completing the Pinyin spelling for the
character.
4. When the character displays, press the 1 key to
activate the Character Selection field. A number
(7 to
) is added to the beginning of a
corresponding character.
5. With the Character Selection field being
activated, press the 7 key to the

Note: If you enter the first character of the name you
assigned to a My Words item (see page 48), the
display shows you the character at the end of
the Pinyins for your keypress. To use the item,
press the Right key to highlight the character
and then press the
