21 Cleaning
► Keep the socket free from foreign matter and clean as
necessary with a soft brush or soft, dry cloth.
NOTICE
Never spray the hedge trimmer with water. Spraying it with
a stream of water could result in damage to the electronics
and other systems.

21.2 Cleaning the Cutting Blades

WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended
activation, remove the connecting cord before carrying out
any cleaning work, @ 7. Users of this hedge trimmer should
carry out only the cleaning described in this manual. To help
prevent injuries, always wear heavy-duty work gloves when
handling the hedge trimmer or its cutting blades, @ 6.3.
To clean the cutting blades:
► Spray both sides of the cutting blades with a resin solvent,
such as STIHL Resin Remover and Lubricant.
► Insert the connecting cord and switch on the hedge
trimmer for a few seconds to evenly distribute the resin
solvent throughout the cutting blades.
► Do not use a pressure washer to clean the cutting blades
or spray them with water or other liquids.
