GPRS attach

(Menu 9.5.4)
The GPRS Technology (General Packet Radio
Service) allows mobile phones to send and
receive data on the radio frequencies using
an always on connection.
Compared to the classic data connection
(CSD), GPRS allows better speed and to pay
depending on the quantity of data flow
instead of the connection time. Check the
service cost with your service provider. The
service using GPRS are MMS, WAP and E-
mail.
Before using GPRS service:
• You should subscribe to the GPRS service
offered by your service provider. Check
your service provider for the cost and
availability of this service
• You need to configure the phone in the
menu Internet (Menu 7.4.1) and MMS
(Menu 5.9.2.6).
You can set GPRS service depending on
various situations.
Switch on
If you select this menu, the phone is
automatically registered to a GPRS network
when you switch the phone on. Starting a
WAP or PC dial-up application created the
connection between phone and network and
data transfer is possible. When you end the
application, GPRS connection is ended but
the registration to the GPRS network
remains.
When needed
If you select this menu, the GPRS connection
is established when you connect a WAP
service and closed when you end the WAP
connection.
