Using other equipment

Connecting other equipment

Turn the unit off before making connections.
Refer to the manual of the other unit for details.

ARecord player
Sound cannot be produced unless a phono equalizer (not
included) is connected.
A record player with a built-in phono equalizer is recommended.
Stereo connection cable (not included)

You can enjoy surround sound of DVDs encoded with Dolby
Digital.

Do not bend the optical fiber cable.
Coaxial cable (not included)

The included front speakers have subwoofers, but by connecting
an active subwoofer, you can enhance the bass effect found on
DVDs encoded with Dolby Digital.

Optional antenna connections

Use outdoor antennas if radio reception is poor.

FM outdoor antenna
Disconnect the FM indoor antenna.
The antenna should be installed by a competent technician.

AM outdoor antenna
Run a piece of vinyl wire horizontally across a window or other
convenient location.
Leave the loop antenna connected.
Note
Disconnect the antenna when the unit is not in use.
Do not use the antenna during an electrical storm.
