Tape operations
Playing a tape
• While locating a specified tune:
– If the tape is rewound to its beginning,
playback starts from the beginning of that
side.
– If the tape is fast-forwarded to the end, it is
reversed and played from the beginning of
the other side.
• In the following cases, Multi Music Scan
(MMS), Blank Skip, and Repeat Play may not
operate correctly:
– Tapes with tunes having long pianissimo
passages (very quiet parts) or non-recorded
portions.
– Tapes with short non-recorded sections.
– Tapes with high level noise or humming
between tunes.
• Do not use the following tape:
– Dirty or dusty tapes.
– Cassette with peeling labels.
– Loose tape which may become entangled
with the mechanism.
Changing the source
• If you change the source, playback also stops
(without ejecting the cassette).
Ejecting a tape
• You can also eject the cassette by pressing
Cassette's 0 (Tape Eject) with the ignition
key turned off. (However, you cannot load the
cassette into the cassette compartment when
the ignition key is turned off.)
iPod operations
Playing an iPod
• You can control the following types of iPods
through the interface adapter.
– iPod with dock connector (3rd Generation)
– iPod with Click Wheel (4th Generation)
– iPod mini
– iPod photo

When you connect the iPod nano to the
interface adapter, be sure to disconnect the
headphones; otherwise, no sound is heard.

It is not possible to browse video files
on the "Videos" menu while the iPod is
connected to the interface adapter.
• If the iPod does not play correctly, please
update your iPod software to the latest
version. For details about updating your iPod,
visit <http://www.apple.com>.
• When you turn on this unit, the iPod is
charged through this unit.
• While the iPod is connected, all operations
from the iPod are disabled. Perform all
operations from this unit.
• The text information may not be displayed
correctly.
– Some characters such as accented letters
cannot be shown correctly on the display.
– The text information shown on the display
depends on the condition of communication
between the iPod and the unit.
• If the text information includes more than
8 characters, press and hold TITLE/PAGE
repeatedly to show the rest of the text
information. This unit can display up to 40
characters.
Notices on using the interface adapter
• The iPod's controls may not function properly
depending on the status of the communication
between the interface adapter and the iPod.
• In case the iPod does not work correctly after
connecting to the interface adapter, disconnect
the connection cable from the iPod, then
connect the cable again. If the iPod still does
not work correctly, reset the iPod.
