1 POWER switch and indicator
Turns the power on or off. When the
unit is turned on, the indicator lights
up and the charging of battery packs
or the supply of DC power to an
external device becomes possible.
2 Battery pack connection sections
(1 to 4) and charging indicators
These connect BP-L40A/L60A/L90A
lithium-ion battery packs. To
disconnect a battery pack, press the
release button and pull the battery
pack upward.
The charging indicators show the
charging progress or results by
flashing or lighting red, orange or
green, as follows.

Meaning
Supply of DC power
to an external
device
Charging in
progress (0% to
80% capacity)
Charging wait
(charged to 80%
capacity; another
battery pack is being
charged). This
status arises only
when more than one
battery pack is
connected.

progress (charged
to 81% capacity or
more)
End of charging
Indicator status
Left Center Right
(R)
: Off
O: Orange
G: Green
: Flashing
R: Red
: On
Meaning
One of the following
conditions exists.
• An incompatible
battery pack has
been connected.
• Before the start of
charging, the
output voltage of
the charger was
different from the
specified voltage.
• After the start of
charging, the
battery voltage did
not rise to the
charging voltage
within a specified
period.
• After the start of
charging, the
battery connector
voltage has
exceeded the
specified voltage.
• After the start of
charging, the
battery connector
voltage has
dropped below the
initial value.
• A charging current
other than that
corresponding to
the connected
battery pack was
detected during
charging.
If any of the above
conditions occur, try
recharging the
battery pack two or
three more times. If
the condition
persists, the battery
pack is probably
defective and should
be replaced.
