Getting Started
Connecting to a HDTV
To connect video to a HDTV you can use either the same connections as for TV with Component Video. You will need to press the MODE button on the remote
control to toggle between non-interlaced (HDTV) and interlaced (STANDARD) video output.
You can only use the MODE button when there is no disc inserted in the disc tray.

Connecting to a Dolby Digital AC-3 Receiver/Decoder
Using either an RCA-ended COAXIAL cable suited for digital audio use or an OPTICAL cable,connect one end to the appropriate jack on the DVX-580G (Coaxial or
Optical) and the other end to the appropriate jack on the AC-3 decoder/receiver (Coaxial or Optical).
IfyouhavebothcoaxialandopticalinputsonyourAC-3decoder/receiver,itisrecommendedtouseanopticalconnectionasthosecableseliminatethepossibilityof
EMI (electromagnetic interference).
If your Dolby Digital Receiver does not have a built-in AC-3 decoder, and has 5.1 channel RCA inputs, you can use the 5.1 channel output jacks on the DVX-580G.
Either method will provide for AC-3 decoding.
Connecting to a Dolby Pro Logic Amplifier
Using six RCA patch cables, connect the plugs from one side of the cables to the FL, FR, CENTER, SL, SR and SW outputs on the DVX-580G.
Connect all the plugs from the other side to the FL, FR, CENTER, SL, SR and SW inputs your Dolby Pro Logic amplifier.
