Safety Alert Symbol & Signal Words
The alert symbol (
) is used to identity safety information
about hazards that can result in personal injury. A signal
word (DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION) is used with
the alert symbol to indicate the likelihood and the potential
severity of the injury. In addition, a hazard icon may be
used to represent the type of hazard. An explanation of
hazard levels and icons are as follows:
DANGER
This indicates a hazard which, if not avoided, will result in
serious injury or death.
WARNING
This indicates a hazard which, if not avoided, could result
in serious injury or death.
CAUTION
This indicates a hazard which, if not avoided, might result
in serious injury or death.
NOTICE
This message presented without the alert symbol indicates
a situation where the unit or property could be damaged.

Safety Interlock System

This unit is equipped with a parking brake safety interlock
switch. These safety systems are present for your
safety, do not attempt to bypass safety switches, and
never tamper with safety devices. Check their operation
regularly.
Test 1 — Engine should NOT start if:
• The parking brake is NOT engaged (unlocked
position).
Test 2 — Engine SHOULD start if:
• The parking brake is in the engaged (locked
position).
NOTE: Once the engine has stopped, the parking brake
must be engaged to start the engine.
