BUILT-IN VOICE ACTIVATED CIRCUIT (VOX)

VOX feature enables user to transmit automatically by speaking on the
microphone of the VOX headset (not supplied) without pressing the PTT switch.
NOTE: VOX feature will not work without the Headset Microphone.
Built in [PTT] of UH-042XR is temporarily disabled, however accidental
pressing of [PTT] will cause the unit to transmit briefly.
To activate VOX
1. Turn the UH-042XR OFF.
2. Press and hold
bottom left of the display.
3. To set sensitivity. Press and hold
"VOX" icon starts blinking.
4. Press either [ ] or [ ] within 10 secs. to
select the desired VOX level number
(9 with the lowest sensitivity to 1 with the highest sensitivity).
5. Press
to save the selected level. "VOX"
[VOX]
icon stops blinking.
6. Install VOX Headset (not supplied) to
UH-042XR
Installing VOX Headset
1. Remove SPEAKER MIC COVER.
2. Attach VOX headset mic by pushing jack down
through to the speaker mic port of UH-042XR
until it sits firmly on the radio.
