    INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS Selecting a Location Before choosing a location for your new phone, here are some important guidelines you should consider: The location should be close to both a phone jack and a power outlet.     SETTING THE RING TIME The ring switch sets your answering system to answer after four or eight rings. Your DS73 answering device has a default ring time of four. However you have the option to select 8 as well. To select the ring time to eight, press ring button continuously until the desired ring time shows on the LED display.
