Step-by-Step
Basic operations are:
1. 4500 is used to operate the HVAC system with the alarm panel is armed in the AWAY or MAXIMUM
mode. Premises Thermostat should be set above (in heat mode) or below (in cool mode) the 4500 Set-back
setting. (Check your panel and make sure the Auto-Stay feature is not enabled.)
2. The 4500 does NOT adjust the temperature. It has a Thermistor built on it that detects the temperature of
the room. When it determines that the temperature is above or below the set back it opens up the relay to
prevent voltage feed to HVAC system preventing it from coming on at existing thermostat setting, it then
uses 4500 settings. When temperature reaches Set-back setting Relay will close to allow the on premise
thermostat to control the HVAC system to maintain the Set-back temperature.
Notes:
1. The 4500 is only activated in the Away or Maximum modes
2. See troubleshooting if device is not functioning properly
