Component Differences Review 120 VAC Syrup Solenoid Valve When the solenoid is energized with 120VAC, the valve coil generates a magnetic field which will pull the steel plunger with a rubber seal tip away from the internal housing and allows the syrup to flow past the solenoid. Once the valve coil is de-energized, the compressed spring in the internal housing will push the steel plunger back into its original closed position.
