WARNING! After you've stopped the
engine, the blade is still in motion for
a few seconds.
∙ If the mower vibrates in an abnormal way, try to find
the reasons why, and take your mower to an authorized
service station.
∙ Check regularly that bolts, nuts and screws are
secularly tightening for a safe use of the mower.
UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure that all
components are included. Refer to the drawings on this
manual. If any parts are missing or broken, please call
an IVT assistance center.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Always stop the engine
before performing
operations.
Grass catcher (7) [F1]
∙
Put the metallic frame (15) inside the grass catcher
(7).
∙ Fix the grass catcher (7) on the metallic frame (15).
∙
Pull up the deflector (9) and place the grass catcher
(7) at its place.
Handle [F2]
∙ Open out the handle and screw the handles parts
with the two screws and plastic nuts.
∙ Join upper (1) and lower handle (2), with the two
nut knob (12) and its screws.
∙
Put the recoil starter (11) on the right of the handle
and fix the cable with the plastic collar.
∙
Introduce the rope of the recoil starter (11) on its
support guide rope.
Cutting height adjustment
(GLM-16)
Set the desired height, tightening wheel by wheel (14)
at the same high position.
(GLM-18, GLM-18/3F, GLMS-18, GLMS-21/3F)
Set the desired height by pulling and turning the height
adjustment lever (13).
Mulching [F3]
(GLM-18/3F, GLMS-21/3F)
With mulching system, the blade chops up the cut grass
finely and spreads it on the lawn uniformly with no need
to collect it.
NOTE: always avoid removing a large quantity of
grass. Never cut more than one third of the total
grass height per single pass! Regulate the forward
speed according to the lawn conditions and the
amount of grass removed.
∙ Pull upwards the deflector (9) and place the
mulching plug (16) in the discharge chute (17).
∙ Release the deflector (9).
Side discharge [F4]
(GLM-18/3F, GLMS-21/3F)
∙
Pull upwards the side cover (18) and attach the
side discharge chute (19) onto the carter (6).
∙ Release the side cover (18).
NOTE: mow in a pattern where cut grass is not
discharged on the grass still to be cut.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
the following
Engine starting [F5]
Once the machine has been set up properly, start the
engine as follow:
∙ Put the throttle control (4) on the START position
or
∙ Take the engine control bar (3) and maintain it against
the superior handle, pull on the recoil starter (11) handle
until you can feel resistance and then pull harshly.
∙ Put the lever on RUN position or
(GLMS-18, GLMS-21/3F)
∙ To engage the self-propelled system, pull on the
propeller bar (8) of the upper handle (1) and maintain it
engaged together with the engine control bar (3).

CAUTION! Engine delivered without
oil: put oil before starting.

WARNING! Blade is in action as
soon as the engine starts. While the
machine is working, maintain the
throttle control (4) in working position.
The engine will stop as soon as you
release the engine control bar (3).
