The SK1 is a polished aluminum gear shift knob that replaces most factory manual transmission shift knobs. The SK1 is also a
infrared learning remote
that can learn up to 6 functions from most aftermarket stereo's, VCP's, DVD's and Satellite radio's wireless

remote. The larger button (Fig. 1) is the 'Dual mode' button which switches the bottom 3 buttons over to second mode which gives
you 3 additional functions.
Step 1: Unpacking
Remove the phillips screw from underneath the package.
Unscrew the bottom cover on the gear knob and remove
the set screws and plastic dowel inside the gear knob.
Step 2: Select gear knob adapter
Remove your existing gear knob from the car. Find the
correct rubber adapter from the three choices and cut off.
Step 3: Installation of gear knob
A: Insert rubber cap into
gear knob.
This step requires that
you insert the rubber cap
into the gear knob very
carefully. Failure to install
properly
could
cause
damage to the ribbon
cable and failure of the
SK1 module.
B: Straighten the ribbon
cable coming out of the
gear knob to remove
any twists. Pull the cable
out gently to straighten it
if necessary.

Step 4: Install the SK1 controller module
All SK1 wire connections should be made at the same
connector as the aftermarket stereo. Connect the SK1
black wire to chassis ground and the red wire to 12 volts
switched accessory. Run the 5 pin ribbon cable down
the gear shaft and through the boot cover up to the SK1
module. Connect the 5 pin ribbon cable of the gear knob to
the SK1 module (Fig. 1). Do not mount the IR emitter until
after programming and verifying operation on next page.
