Selecting Density Using Software Commands.

To select the recording density by using software commands:
1. Choose a density specifier from Table 3-5.

Assumes a typical compression ratio of 2:1. The compression ratio will vary depending upon the type of
data being compressed.
2. Type the mt command with the appropriate density specifier (Table 3-5).
For example:
#mt -f /dev/rmt/3u rewind
