OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
TOOLS AND ACCESSORIES
Combinaton floor nozzle
This nozzle È is suitable for general purpose cleaning on a
wide variety of floor coverings.
Using & cleaning the turbo nozzle
(certain models only)
The Turbo nozzle Ó is ideal for hair and fibre pick-up,
especially on deeper pile carpets.
After use, hair and fibres may become wrapped around the
brush, reducing the performance. To remove, carefully cut
the hair and fibres with scissors before pulling away. If any
large particles are sucked into the turbo nozzle, these may
become caught in the turbo fan. To access the turbo fan,
remove the cover from underneath the nozzle. Make certain
the cover is re-fitted before re-using the turbo nozzle.
Tool storage
A
The upholstery nozzle and the crevice tool are stored in the
internal storage compartment ›.

Switching on
D
Pull out the mains supply cable to it's maximum length. Plug
the appliance into the mains supply. Push the on/off foot
switch ‰ to start the motor.
Controlling suction power
The Eco Switch „ allows you to turn down the power when
cleaning more delicate items, such as curtains and
upholstery, saving energy and reducing running costs. See
table for guideline settings.
The suction power can also be adjusted using the fingertip
air flow control on the hose handle.
Closed: full suction
Open: low suction
Thermostat protection
If the motor overheats, the cleaner will switch off
automatically. If this occurs, press the on/off switch,
disconnect from the mains supply and leave for 60 minutes
to allow the motor to cool down.
The likely causes of the cleaner overheating are:
The nozzle or tubes are blocked
The dustbag is full.
The motor protection filter ‡ is very dirty
The exhaust filter Ê is very dirty.
Check and rectify the problem before attempting to reuse the
cleaner.
IMPORTANT: Do not use your vacuum cleaner without the
filters fitted.
Tube standby
G
During short breaks in cleaning, the tubes can be held in an
upright 'standby' position, whilst you move furniture for
instance.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the appliance is never left
unattended whilst it is switched on.
Cable rewind
H
Switch off the appliance. Remove the plug from the mains
supply and rewind the power cable using the cable rewind
switch Â.
WARNING: When using the cable rewind, always hold the
plug as the cable will rewind quickly.
Storage
Tube park
I
The vacuum cleaner can be stored in an upright position.
Rotate the floor nozzle until the lug on the back of it can be
fitted into the tube park slot Ï on the base of the appliance.
