Before you begin

Site location is important for the proper operation of the Advanced Gateway 2330. Ensure the
area where you install and use the Advanced Gateway 2330 meets the following environmental
requirements:
• Ambient temperature between 32 and 104 F (0 and 40 C)
• Noncondensing relative humidity
- between 0% and 95% for the Advanced Gateway 2330
• No nearby heat sources such as hot air vents or direct sunlight
• No nearby sources of severe electromagnetic noise
• No excessive dust
• Adequate power source within six feet; one circuit required for each power supply (see
table, AC and DC power specifications)
• At least 2 inches (5.08 cm) on each side of the switch unit for ventilation
• Between 2 to 3 feet (ft) (0.61 to 0.91 meters [m]) of additional clearance around the
Advanced Gateway 2330 for access to the cable connectors on the front and front panels

Installing the Advanced Gateway 2330 on a table or shelf

You can install a single Advanced Gateway 2330 on any flat surface that can safely support
the weight of the router with interface modules installed (8.5 pounds or 3.85 kilograms).
Follow these steps to install the Advanced Gateway 2330 on a table of shelf:
1. Attach rubber feet to each of the four corners on the bottom of the chassis.
2. Set the router on a table or shelf.
The Advanced Gateway 2330 has two internal, non-removable fans. Allow sufficient clearance
within and around the unit for maintenance and for proper airflow. Keep cable bundles clear
of the intake and exhaust vents.
