Use
plenty of oil
on the
bar and chain when
cutting.
Never
let the
chain
run
dry
on
the
bar. In abrasive
wood,
pump the
oiler button more frequently.

Chain sharpening is divided into two main
steps
-
sharpening
cutter teeth and
l
owering depth
gauges.

cutters
are
shown
in
Figure 19.
The use of
a McCulloch
Depth Gauge
too
l
and
a McCulloch
File Guide is
recommended to make chain
sharpening
a
relatively
easy
task. Your McCulloch
chain
saw
serviceman
will advise
what
clearance to
set your
depth
gauges.
