Chapter 1 Introduction Overview The ATEN VS482B Switch is an ideal solution for application requiring superior video resolution of True 4K when connecting 4 HDMI A/V sources to 2 HDMI displays. Chapter 2. Hardware Setup Installation Installation of the VS482B is simply a matter of plugging in the appropriate cables. VS482B Installation To install the switch, refer to the installation diagram below as you perform the following steps: 1. Connect your audio devices (such as speakers or AVRs) to the Stereo Audio Out Ports or Digital Audio Out Ports. -
Page 18: Installing The Rs-232 Controller
In order to use the RS-232 serial interface to attach a high-end controller (such as a PC) to the VS482B, use a serial cable such as a modem cable. The end connecting to the VS482B should have a 9-pin male connector. Connect this to the serial interface on the rear of the VS482B. -

Introduction The purpose of the Windows-based Firmware Upgrade Utility is to provide an easy process for upgrading the VS482B. The program comes as part of a Firmware Upgrade Package that is specific for each device. As new firmware versions become available, new firmware upgrade packages are posted on our website. -

Preparation To prepare for the firmware upgrade, do the following: 1. Use an RS-232 cable to connect a COM port on your computer to the RS- 232 Serial Port of your VS482B. VS482B 2. Unplug the VS482B’s power adapter. 3. Hold-down front panel pushbutton 1 and plug the power adapter into the VS482B to power the unit. -
