Functions and operation of the Marathon ST training computer

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Information concerning your safety:
• The treadmill must be used for its intended purpose only, i.e. for running and walking training purposes of adults.
• To prevent injuries from inappropriate or excessive biomechanical stress, this treadmill may only be used in accordance with the instructions.
• Before initial commissioning and additionally after approximately 6 days of operation, check all connections for firm seat.
• Check the functionality and the proper condition of the treadmill on a regular basis.
• The user is responsible for these safety checks; these checks have to be performed duly and on a regular basis.
• The safety level of the unit determined by the construction may only be maintained if the unit is checked for damages and wear on a
regular basis.
• Replace faulty or damaged parts immediately. The unit must not be used until it has been repaired. Works on electric components may
be conducted by qualified personnel only. Please use genuine KETTLER spare parts only.
• Before starting your training program, please consult your physician to check if your physical condition is good enough to perform your
training with this treadmill. The findings of your physician should be used as the basis for your training program. Improperly performed or
excess training can result in damages to your health.
• Attach the cord of the safety switch to you clothes. Adapt the length of the cord: The switch has to be triggered when the person run-
ning trips. Pulling the safety key deactivates the belt running and the height adjustment mechanism immediately!
• You should become familiar with the course of movements at low speed during the first training sessions.
• When starting the training session, put your feet on both side platforms and prepare yourself for running.
• When you are uncertain, hold fast to the handrails and leave the treadmill over the side platforms; then, you have to remove the safety key.
• You can prevent third persons from using the treadmill in an unauthorised manner by pulling and keeping the safety key. Please store
the safety key carefully and prevent children from getting access to the safety key!
Important: Please observe the safety instructions in the mounting instructions as well.
