    ELECTRICAL SAFETY Grounded plugs must be plugged into an outlet properly installed and grounded in accordance with all codes and ordinances. Never remove the grounding prong or modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs. Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.

    GROUNDING WARNING! Improperly connecting the grounding wire can result in the risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the tool.
  • Page 7: Double Insulated Tools: Tools With Two Prong Plugs

    DOUBLE INSULATED TOOLS: TOOLS WITh TWO PRONG PLUGS Tools marked “Double Insulated” do not require grounding. They have a special double insulation system which satisfies OSHA requirements and complies with the applicable standards of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., the Canadian Standard Association, and the National Electrical Code. (See Figure B.) Double insulated tools may be used in either of the 120 volt outlets shown in the following illustration.
  • Page 8 If you are using an extension cord outdoors, make sure it is marked with the suf- fix “W-A” (“W” in Canada) to indicate it is acceptable for outdoor use. Make sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition. Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified elec- trician before using it.
  • Page 9 ADDITIONAL PUMP WARNINGS This pump is intended for clear water fountains only. Not intended for any other use including swimming pools. The National Electric Code requires a ground fault interrupter (GFCI) be used in the circuit supplying power to this pump. Consult an electrician for proper installation. For proper cooling, this pump must be completely submerged.
  • Page 10 Operation General Pond Construction NOTE: For a pond 7-1/2” deep, the maximum hole size is about 50”L x 35”W x 10”D. This allows the Large Pond (3) to sit in the hole. Adjust your digging if the Large Pond does not sit properly in the hole. See suggestions below. It has been suggested to use spray paint (not included) to mark the ground where you want to dig your hole.
  • Page 11 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (continued) Hose (9) Tray with Hole (11) FIGURE 2 Once the hole is dug and the Large Pool (3) is in place, stack rocks toward the back of the pond and place the smaller Decorative Tray (10). Be sure it is level. Stagger the second Decorative Tray with Hole (11) above the first Decorative Tray (10) so that the water will flow from one Tray to another and then into the pool.
  • Page 12 13. Run the power or extension cord to the power outlet, but do not plug it in until you fill the pond and the Fountain Pump with Filter (2) are submersed in water. Note: Make sure there is no air in the connection hose between the filter and the pump.
  • Page 13 CLEANING ThE FILTER IN ThE PUMP To clean the Pump Filter, remove the front cover and impeller. See Figure 5. Use a small brush or stream of water to remove any debris. IF THE PUMP FAILS TO OPERATE. CHECK THE CIRCUIT BREAKER OR TRY ANOTHER OUTLET. CHECK THAT THE PUMP IS GETTING ELECTRICAL POWER.

    INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING If the Pump (2) fails to operate, check the circuit breaker and try another outlet. NOTE: Always disconnect from electrical outlet before handling the Pump. Pull apart the Pump as shown in Figure 6. Check the inlet screen to ensure it is not clogged with debris.
