Tone Length Setting
The tone length setting enables you to select short or long
DTMF (dual-tone mu l t i - f requency) tones. When you use a
t e l e s e rvice (such as your bank account or voicemail serv i c e )
and press the keys to enter nu m b e rs into the teleserv i c e , yo u
a re sending DTMF tones. The system used by the bank or
other service determines if you need short or long DTMF
t o n e s . If the service is digital (which most are these day s )
s h o rt DTMF will almost always wo rk .H oweve r, some new
systems and almost all older (analog) systems re q u i re you to
use long DTMF tones. M a ny home answe ring mach i n e s
re q u i re long DTMF tones.
To set the DTMF tone length:
1 . P ress
to display the Main Menu .
2 . P ress
for Setup.
3 . P ress
for Tone Length.
4 . P ress the scroll keys to toggle between Short and Long.
5 . When the desired option display s ,p ress
s e t t i n g .
Setting the Time
The cl o ck is set and maintained automatically when yo u r
phone is in digital mode. When you turn on your phone in
analog mode you must set the time and date for yo u r
S cheduler and A l a rm . H e re 's how to set the time and date.
