If symptoms of poor performance develop, the following chart can be used as a guide to correct the problem.
When diagnosing faults in operation of the tool, always make sure the hydraulic power source is supplying the correct
hydraulic fl ow and pressure as listed in the table. Use a fl owmeter know to be accurate. check the fl ow with the hydraulic
fl uid temperature at least 80
PROBLEM
Tool will not operate.
Trigger and valve spool stick.
Pruner cuts poorly.
Hydraulic oil leaks between
valve handle and outer tube
handle.

TROUBLESHOOTING

CAUSE
Hydraulic system not engaged or run-
ning.
Hydraulic system control valve "OFF".
Tool not connected to the Hydraulic
system.
Damaged trigger guard.
High back pressure.
Tool reverse plumbed to the system.
Valve spool or spool bore scored by
contaminated hydraulic fl uid.
Blade is dull.
Pruner is running backwards.
System relief valve set too low.
Piston seal leaks or piston or cylinder
is damaged.
Seals worn or piston rod worn.
Engage or start hydraulic system.
Turn the system control valve "ON".
Connect tool to the system.
Have repaired by authorized dealer.
Determine cause of high back pressure in
return line and remove restriction,
Correctly connect the pressure and return
lines.
Have repaired by authorized dealer.
Replace with sharp blade.
Check direction of blade cut. Correct di-
rection is for blade to cut when squeezing
the trigger. Blade should be retracted when
not squeezing the trigger.
Check system relief and adjust relief valve
to crack open at 2100 psi.
Have inspected and repaired by authorized
dealer.
Have repaired by authorized dealer.
