To start unit electric cooling: When your heat pump needs additional heat to keep you comfort- able, your thermostat will turn on the supplemental gas heat. Refer to Fig. 8 while proceeding with the following steps. Step 4—Defrost Mode 1. Set the temperature selector on room thermostat to highest temperature setting and set system SWITCH to OFF. - Page 5 Air Filters WARNING The air filter(s) should be checked every 3 or 4 weeks and changed or cleaned whenever it becomes dirty.
