  • Page 7 ASSEMBLY ATTACHING THE GRASS DEFLECTOR WARNING. The line cutting blade on the grass deflector is sharp. Avoid contact with the blade. Failure to avoid contact can result in serious personal injury. Attach the grass deflector to the mounting bracket and align the holes. Tighten the four screws from the bottom of the grass deflector through the mounting plate and into the mounting bracket using the supplied spark plug wrench and screwdriver.

    OPERATION WARNING. Always shut off engine before fueling. Never remove fuel cap or add fuel to a machine with a running or hot engine. Make sure the unit is sitting on a flat, level surface and only add fuel outdoors. If the engine is hot, let the unit cool for at least five minutes before adding fuel.
  • Page 11 OPERATION To start a warm engine: Lay the product on a flat, bare surface. Move the On/Off switch to the ‘ON’ position. Push the primer bulb until fuel is visible and flows freely in the clear fuel tank return line. After refueling, pump the bulb an additional 4 or 5 times.

    OPERATION CUTTING TIPS Avoid hot surfaces by always keeping the tool away from your body. Keep the trimmer tilted toward the area being cut; this is the best cutting area. The line trimmer cuts when passing the unit from right to left. This will avoid throwing debris at the operator.

    MAINTENANCE IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT WARNING. The cutting head will move when adjusting the idle speed. Wear all protective clothing and keep all bystanders, children, and pets at least 50 ft. away. Make adjustments with the unit supported by hand so that the cutting head does not contact the ground or any object.
