Troubleshooting

Error Messages

Follow the instructions below if an error message appears on the display.
Message
AVLS (vol. limit) is On.
Volume cannot be
increased.
Battery too low to update
firmware. Please charge.
Cannot add more than
100 songs per list.
Cannot add to a
Bookmark List currently
playing.
Cannot change Date-time
setting when Time sync
setting is "Synch with
software".
Cannot change sound
settings when audio
output is Line Out.
Cannot change volume
when audio output is Line
Out.
Cannot complete while
playing. Pause song then
try again.
Meaning
The volume exceeds the
maximum volume
allowed by AVLS.
There is not enough
battery remaining to
update the firmware.
The number of tracks
added to a Bookmark List
or the Trash Bin exceeds
the 100 track limit.
You are trying to add
tracks to a Bookmark List
when any track in the
track list is shown with
.
You have tried to set
"Date-Time Set" when
"Time Sync Set" is set to
"Synchronizing."
You tried to change the
"Sound" setting while
"Audio Output" is set to
"Line Out."
You tried to change the
player volume while
"Audio Output" is set to
"Line Out."
You have tried to select an
unselectable item during
playback.
Corrective action
 Set "AVLS (Vol.
Limit)" to "Off"
(  page 51).
 Charge the battery fully
or connect the player to
the AC power adaptor
before updating the
firmware.
 Remove unnecessary
tracks from the
Bookmark List or the
Trash Bin (  page 42).
 Start playback of the
track from a genre or
album list, and then add
it to the Bookmark List.
 Set "Time Sync Set" to
"Do not Synch."
 Set "Audio Output" to
"Headphones"
(  page 53).
 Set "Audio Output" to
"Headphones"
(  page 53).
 Pause playback, and try
the operation again.
