Protecting a File

To prevent a file from being accidentally
erased or edited, you can protect an
important file. A protected file is marked
with the
(protect) indicator and is
regarded as a read-only file you cannot
erase or edit.

Display the file which you want to
protect.

Press and hold •DISP–MENU in the stop
mode to enter the menu mode.
The menu mode window will be
displayed.

PLAY/STOP•ENTER.

Press
(stop) to exit the menu mode.

To release protection
Select a protected file, and then follow steps
2 through 5. Select "OFF" in step 4, and
then press
PLAY/STOP•ENTER.

P Note
You cannot set protection to the podcast files.
