Recording pictures from a VCR, etc.

You can record pictures from a VCR, etc., onto a tape, you can also record a scene as a still
image onto a "Memory Stick Duo" using an optional i.LINK cable.
Be sure to insert a cassette or a "Memory Stick Duo" for recording in your camcorder
beforehand.
You can connect your camcorder to a VCR, etc., or an i.LINK-compatible device using the
i.LINK cable (optional).
Connect your camcorder to the wall outlet (wall socket) using the supplied AC Adaptor for
this operation (p. 12). Refer also to the instruction manuals supplied with the devices to be
connected.
b Notes
• You cannot record pictures on your camcorder from a VCR, etc., that does not have an
i.LINK jack.

: Signal flow
When connecting your camcorder to
another device using an i.LINK cable, the
video and audio signals are transmitted
digitally, producing high quality pictures
and sound. Note that you cannot output
picture and sound separately.
Recording movies

Connect your VCR, etc., to your
camcorder with an i.LINK cable.

Insert a cassette into the VCR.

Slide the POWER switch
repeatedly to turn on the PLAY/
EDIT lamp.

Set your camcorder to recording
pause mode.
