Radiator low er mounting as shown in figure 3,
is of the foot-m ounted type.
RADIATOR CORE REPLACEMENT
(CO N VEN TION AL CAB MODELS
HC, JC , HH, & JH90)
REMOVAL
1. Gain a c c e s s to radiator core as follow s:
a. F ib erg la ss Hood - T ilt the hood assem bly
forward.
b. Sheet Metal Hood - Rem ove the hood a s ­
sem bly

ST135-70.
c. On m odels with shutters, c lo se shut-off
cock in air supply line at a ir tank and disconnect
air line from shutterstat body.
2. Drain radiator. D isconnect lin e s and drain
o il co o ler. D isconnect a ll coolant h oles and o il
lin e s from radiator core a ssem b ly.
3. If vehicle is equipped with a ir conditioning
or power steerin g , rem ove cooling c o ils from
radiator. In addition, rem ove power steerin g r e s ­
erv oir
and receiver-d eh yd rator
radiator.
4. R em ove fan shroud attaching b olts, then
lay shroud back over fan blade.

5. Rem ove nut, w asher, and bolt at upper end
of each radiator sta b ilizer rod.
6. Rem ove lockw ire, two b o lts, w ash ers, and
cushions (fig. 3) from radiator support.
7. Attach a lifting sling or chain to each rad­
iator upper mounting bracket.
8. With a chainfall (using sling) carefully lift
radiator assem b ly from veh icle. R em ove upper
cushion (fig. 3).
INSTALLATION
1. Using a chainfall and slin g (attached to
radiator upper mounting brackets) carefully lift
radiator assem b ly into position in v eh icle.
NOTE: B e su re to in sta ll upper cushion on
radiator support (fig. 3).
2. Install w ashers and cushions on two bolts
(fig. 3). Install bolts through radiator support and
upper cushion into low er radiator tank. Torque
b olts to 130 to 140 foot-pounds. Install lockw ire.
3. Install bolt, w asher, and nut on each radi­
ator sta b ilize r rod (fig. 1). Tighten nut on each rod
to 50 to 60 foot-pounds torque.
4. Install fan shroud.
5. Install a ir conditioning and pow er steerin g
cooling c o ils, power steerin g r e se r v o ir , and r e ­
ceiver-d ehydrator (if rem oved).
6. Connect a ll coolant h o ses and o il lin e s to
radiator core a ssem b ly.
7. If equipped, connect air line to shutterstat
and open shut-off cock in supply lin e at air tank.

shroud w ill not in terfere with operation of fan.
9. Add coolant to radiator, start engine and
allow it to w arm up. Inspect sy stem for leak s.
R echeck radiator coolant le v e l and add coolant if
n e c e ssa r y .
10. On m odels equipped with sh eet m etal hood,
in sta ll the hood assem b ly a s d escribed under
SHEET METAL AND FIBERGLASS (SEC. 11) in
Service Manual ST135-70.
RADIATOR CORE REPLACEMENT
(FC & D C90 WITH NTC 335 ENGINE)
REMOVAL
1. Drain radiator.
2. T ilt cab to fully tilted position a s described
in "ALUMINUM TILT CABS" (SEC. ID) in S ervice
Manual ST135-70.
3. D isconnect a ll h o ses from radiator, and
rem ove coolant le v e l indicator w ire from radiator
tank probe unit if so equipped.
4. On m odels with shutters, c lo se shut-off
cock in a ir supply line at air tank and disconnect
a ir line from shutterstat body.
5. If veh icle is equipped with air conditioning
or power steerin g, rem ove cooling c o ils from
