Dialing and Answering

2. DIALING AND ANSWERING
After setting up your phone, you can dial and answer calls. This Section
provides a basic overview for reference purposes.

2.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold
to turn on the phone; and an opening display will
flash on-screen.
If phone requests PIN code entry, input it to continue. (Refer to
Section1.2.3)
Pressing and holding
again will turn off the phone.

2.2 Dialing

When the logo of the network service provider shows on-screen, your
phone is in standby state and you can dial and answer calls. The icon in
the top left corner displays the strength of the signal received by the
phone and current signal strength is indicated by the number of bars on
the screen (5 bars maximum). Call quality may be weakened by obstacles.
Changing the direction of the phone may enhance signal strength.
There are many ways to make a call in standby state, e.g. dialing directly,
dialing from your phone book, speed dialing, or dialing by location.

2.2.1 Dialing directly

Make an internal call
The easiest way to make a call is to input the telephone number directly
by pressing the number keys and pressing
to call the desired
number. If making a long-distance internal call, ensure that you have input
the telephone number with the appropriate area code. You will see
"Dialing..." the name or number, on the screen this time. When
