DISASSEMBLING THE BRAKE EQUALIZER

1. Remove:
• brake equalizer piston seals
• brake equalizer piston 1
NOTE:
Drive the piston out of the brake equalizer by
inserting a rod 2 into the brake hose installa-
tion hole shown.

CHECKING THE BRAKE EQUALIZER

1. Check:
• brake equalizer 1
Wear/scratches → Replace the brake
equalizer.
• brake equalizer body
Cracks/damage → Replace.
• brake fluid delivery passage
(brake equalizer body)
Blockage → Blow out with compressed air.
2. Check:
• piston 1
• piston seals 2
• spring 3
• O-ring 4
Scratches/wear/damage → Replace.

ASSEMBLING THE BRAKE EQUALIZER

WARNING
_
• All internal brake components should be
cleaned and lubricated with new brake
fluid only before installation.
Recommended brake fluid
DOT 4
• Whenever a brake equalizer is disassem-
bled, replace the piston seals and O-ring.
