- If oF appears, and no caller ID is desired, press the Function button
once again to access the flashing call melody number. Then use the
Up or Down Button to select the desired call melody between 1 and
9. As each code selection appears, it causes a sample call tone to
play. Stop at the desired call tone.
- Press the PTT, Monitor or CALL button to confirm selection.
If you wish to assign a caller ID:
- Use the Up or Down button to select On when Cd appears; then press
the Function button again to select the desired call ring number using
the Up or Down buttons. Your ID will now appear as C4, for example,
depending on the call melody you select. As you step through the ID
codes between 1 and 9, as each code selection appears, it causes a
sample call tone to play. Stop at the desired code number and tone.
- Press the PTT, Monitor or CALL button to confirm selection.
Now, your caller ID number and call tone will accompany each transmis-
sion, and will appear/sound on the receiving unit, if so equipped, and vice-
versa.
Start Transmit Beep Melody Selection
The start transmit beep melody, when enabled, automatically sounds when-
ever you initiate a transmission. This melody can only be heard at your unit;
not at the receiving unit.
To enable the start beep melody:
- From the GMRS/FRS standby mode, press the Function button 10
times; Sb and a flashing On or oF indication appears on the display.
- Press the Up or Down button to select the On indication; then press
the PTT, Monitor or CALL button to confirm selection.
To verify the start transmit melody, press the PTT button momentarily; the
transmit melody will sound, the transmit icon (
