    First Steps Initial charging and discharging of batteries Battery charging is indicated in the top right of the display by a flashing battery icon e, V or U. During handset operation, the battery icon indicates the charge status of the batteries (page 1). The correct charge status can only be dis- played when the batteries are first fully charged and discharged through use.

    Making calls Making an external call External calls are those that are made via the public telephone network (fixed net- work) or the Internet (VoIP). You deter- mine what type of connection you want to use when you dial. If you want to call a fixed-network sub- scriber via VoIP, you must always dial the number with the dialling code.
