P repend - The addition of a prefix, such as an area
code, to a phone number.
R F - Radio Frequency
Roaming - The ability to use a wireless phone to

Service Charg e - The amount paid each month to

Standby Time - The amount of time a fully charged
wireless portable or transportable phone can be on

Talk Time - The length of time a person can talk on a
portable or transportable wireless phone without
recharging the battery.
Vocoder - Voice Coder. A device used to convert
speech into digital signals.
Wi reless - Radio-based Systems that allow
transmission of telephone or data signals through the
air without a physical connection, such as a metal wire
(copper) or fiber optic cable.
