On radiator
cooled
models,
belt tension
should be adjusted
so that the belt can be depressed
about
l/2 to 1" in the center
of the longest
span between
pulleys.
The adjustment
and replacement
procedure
differs
between
the Lb00 and L654 models.
It is also different
on marine
models--refer
to page 6.4
for marine
models.
On
L6OO
models
with the adjustable
pulley
as shown in Figure
6-2,
loosen
nuts on
pulley
hub, move hub in closer
to the inner face
to increase
tension
or away to decrease
tension.
Retighten
nuts after
proper
tension
is achieved.
To replace
belt on L6OO, remove
belt guard,
loosen
pulley
hub until belt can be slipped
off the pulleys.
L-654
radiator
equipped
models
have an arrangement
shown in Figure
6-3.
On these,
loosen
the
two mounting
capscrews
and shift plate out to increase
tension
or in to decrease
tension.
Move
plate
all the way in to allow
removal
of a bad belt over the pulleys.
Retighten
capscrews
after
proper
tension
is attained.
