    For one year from the date of purchase, when this Chain Saw is used and maintained according to the operator’s manual, Sears will repair any defect in material or workmanship free of charge. This warranty excludes the bar, chain, spark plug and air filter, which are expendable parts that can wear out from normal use in less than one year.

    OIL AND FUEL MIXING INSTRUCTIONS Old and/or improperly mixed fuel are the main reasons for the unit not running properly. Be sure to use fresh (less than 60 days old) clean unleaded fuel. Follow the instruc- tions carefully for the proper fuel/oil mixture. Definition of Blended Fuels Today's fuels are often a blend of gasoline and oxy- genates such as ethanol, methanol, or MTBE (ether).

    FELLING Felling is the term for cutting down a tree. Small trees up to 6-7 inches (15-18cm) in diameter are usually cut in a single cut. Larger trees require notch cuts. Notch cuts determine the direction the tree will fall. WARNING: and cleared as necessary before cuts are started.

    Fig. 15 LIMBING Limbing a tree is the process of removing the branches from a fallen tree. Do not remove supporting limbs (A) until after the log is bucked (cut) into lengths (Fig. 16). Branches under tension should be cut from the bottom up to avoid binding the chain saw.
