Changing the Batteries

P ush down on the re m ote 's ba ck cove r a nd slide towa rds the bottom to re m ove it.
Inse rt two AAba tte rie s (supplie d), ca re fully noting the "+ " a nd "-" m a rkings on the ba tte rie s a nd on
the re m ote control. To a void a pote ntia l short circuit, inse rt the "-" e nd first. Be sure to use only size
AA ba tte rie s.
W he n ba tte rie s a re insta lle d, slide the cove r ba ck into pla ce (until it clicks into position).
• If the re m ote control a cts e rra tica lly, re pla ce the ba tte rie s. Typica l ba tte ry life is six m onths to one
ye a r. W e re com m e nd using a lka line ba tte rie s for longe r ba tte ry life .
When you change the batteri e s, try to complete the task within three minu t e s. If you take longer than three
m i nu t e s, the remote control codes for your VCR, DV D, and/or Cable Box may have to be reset (see page 18-20).

Before you can operate the remote control, you must first install
the batteries (included). S ee "C hanging the Batteries" at the
bottom of this page for instructions. (For an illustration, please see
pa ge 7 .)

M a ke sure the T V /C AT V switch is se t to T V . M ove the switch to
C AT V only if you ne e d to ope ra te a ca ble box.

S lide the V C R /D V D se le ctor switch to V C R to control a V C R ,
slide to D V D to control a D V D pla ye r. P le a se se e pa ge s 1 8 to
2 0 for instructions on progra m m ing your re m ote control to
ope ra te a C a ble box, V C R or D V D pla ye r.
