Cable and VCR Connections

T he re a re thre e ba sic type s of antenna or cable connections:
• If you ha ve a n a nte nna or ha ve a ca ble syste m tha t doe s not re quire you use a ca ble box to

• If you ha ve a ca ble syste m tha t re quire s the use of a ca ble box to acce ss a ll the channe ls,
ple a se re fe r to D ia gram # 2 . If you ca nnot ope ra te your P icture -In-P icture function using D ia gra m
# 2 , try the conne ction shown in D ia gra m # 3 . It is possible your cable box a llows the signa l of only
one cha nne l a t a tim e to be se nt to your te le vision.
• If you ha ve a ca ble syste m tha t re quire s the use of a cable box to a cce ss certa in pre m ium
cha nne ls, but not "ba sic" ca ble cha nne ls, ple a se refe r to D ia gra m # 3 .
• F or your conve nie nce , conne ction to a V C R is a lso shown in the following diagra m s. A VCR is
not necessary for operation of the television or Picture-In-Picture (PIP) function. You m a y om it the
V C R from your connections if you wish.

• F or inform a tion on using P IP , ple a se se e pa ge 4 4 .
• The PIP feature is ava i l a ble on models AV- 3 6 2 6 0 , AV-32260 and AV-27260 only.

1 ) C onnect the antenna or cable TV wire from the wall outlet, in to the R FInput of the two-way splitter.
2 ) C onne ct a n R F ca ble from the one of the R F O utputs on the splitter, in to the R F Input on the
ba ck of the V C R .
3 ) C onne ct a n R F ca ble from the othe r the R F O utput on the splitte r, in to the R F Input on the
ba ck of the T V .
4 ) C onne ct the ye llow vide o ca ble out from the V C R 's V ide o O utput, in to the T V 's V ideo Input
ja ck, OR conne ct a n S -V ide o ca ble from the V C R 's S -V ideo output, to the T V 's S -V ide o input.
5 ) C onne ct the white a udio ca ble out from the V C R 's Le ft Audio O utput, in to the T V 's Le ft Audio
Input Ja ck.
6 ) C onne ct the re d a udio ca ble out from the V C R 's R ight Audio O utput, in to the T V 's R ight
Audio Input ja ck.
• If your V C R is a m ono sound unit, it will ha ve only one Audio O ut ja ck. C onnect it to the T V 's
Le ft Audio Input.
• P le a se consult your V C R 's owne r 's m a nua l for m ore inform a tion on its opera tion.
