Parking Brake

Depress parking brake pedal. When
the key is in position " 2" of the
steering lock, the brake warning lamp
in the instrument cluster comes on.
To release the parking brake, pull
handle on instrument panel. The
parking brake is released instanta­
neously. The brake warning lamp in
the instrument cluster must go out.

Engage parking brake before starting
the engine. Place the gear selector
lever in either " N" or " P" position.
Cold Engine
Turn key in steering lock to position
" 2" . Charge indicator and preglow
indicator lamps must come on. The
preglow process starts.
When the preglow indicator goes out,
the engine is ready for starting.
Ambient Temperature exceeding
0°C/ + 32° F:
Turn key in steering lock clockwise to
the stop to start the engine. Release
key only when the engine fires
regularly and runs smoothly.
