tool's plug will fit into a polarized extension cord only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully into the extension cord,
reverse the plug. If the plug still does not fit, obtain a
correct polarized extension cord.
A polarized extension cord will require the use of a
polarized wall outlet. The plug will fit into the polarized wall
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the
wall outlet, reverse the plug. If the plug still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet.
Do not change or alter the power tool plug, the wall outlet,
or the extension cord plug in any way.
Double insulation eliminates the need for a three-wire
grounded power cord and grounded power supply system.
This is applicable only to Class II (double-insulated) tools.
This power tool is a double-insulated tool.
a WARNING: GFCI protection should be provided
on all circuits or outlets to be used for the power
tool. Receptacles are available having built-in
GFCI protection and should be used for this
measure of protection.
NOTE: Double insulation does not take the place of
normal safety precautions when operating the power
tool.
Before plugging in the power tool, make sure that the
outlet voltage supplied is within the voltage marked on the
power tool's data plate. Do not use "AC only" rated power
tools with a DC power supply.
a WARNING! Do not connect the power tool to the
power supply before it is completely assembled.
NOTE: A standard screwdriver is required for
assembly.
ATTACHING THE BLOWER TUBE (A)
If you have already assembled your unit for use as a
vacuum, refer to the instructions for converting from
vacuum use to blower use.
1. Align the grooves on the blower tube (1) with the
grooves on the blower outlet (2).
2. Push the blower tube onto the blower outlet until it
snaps into place. The blower tube is secured by the
tube release button (3).
To remove the blower tube, press the tube release button
while pulling on the blower tube.
HIGH-SPEED NOZZLE ASSEMBLY (B)
When greater air speed is desired, use the high-speed
nozzle.
1. Align the tab on top of the blower tube with the notch
on the high-speed nozzle.
2. Slide the nozzle onto the blower tube until the tab
clicks into the notch.
VACUUM ASSEMBLY (C)
NOTE: Assembly instructions for using your unit as a
blower are explained in the previous section.
If you have already assembled your unit for use as a
blower, remove the blower tube.
1. Ensure the unit is stopped and the extension cord is
unplugged.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, use the power tool
only with an extension cord intended for outdoor use, such
as an extension cord of cord type: SW-A, SOW-A, STW-A,
STOW-A, SJW-A, SJOW-A, SJTW-A. or SJTOW-A.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy
enough to carry the current that your power tool will draw.
An undersized extension cord will cause a drop in line
voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. The
table below shows the correct size to use depending on
cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use
the next heavier gauge. The smaller the gauge number,
the heavier the cord.

120V
VIBRATION EXPOSURE
Exposure to vibrations through prolonged use of power
tools could cause blood vessel or nerve damage in the
fingers, hands, and joints of people prone to circulation
disorders or abnormal swelling. Prolonged use in cold
weather has been linked to blood vessel damage in
otherwise healthy people. If symptoms occur such as
numbness, pain, loss of strength, change in skin color or
texture, or loss of feeling in the fingers, hands, or joints,
discontinue the use of this power tool and seek medical
attention. An anti-vibration system does not guarantee
the avoidance of these problems. Users who operate
power tools on a continual and regular basis must closely
monitor their physical condition and the condition of the
power tool.
ASSEMBLY
2. Open the inlet cover by releasing the inlet cover latch
(1).
3. Turn the inlet cover counterclockwise to remove it.
Attaching the vacuum tubes (C2)
There are 2 vacuum tubes, an upper tube and a lower
tube. The upper tube has a hinge and hooks on one end
and is cut straight on both ends. The upper tube attaches
to the blower unit. The lower tube has a curved end that
you point toward the ground during vacuum use. The
lower tube attaches to the upper tube.
1. Ensure the unit is stopped and the extension cord is
unplugged.
2. To attach the lower vacuum tube to the upper vacuum
tube, first align the seams of the two tubes. Then,
press the two tubes together until the lower tube is
fully seated in the upper tube.
3. Place the hinge of the upper tube into the hook on the
bottom side of the unit.
4. Using the ground for support, pivot the blower unit until
tube clicks into the latches of the retaining posts on the
blower unit.
Collection bag assembly (C3, 4)
1. Align the grooves on the elbow tube with the grooves
on the blower outlet (3).
2. Push the elbow tube onto the blower outlet until it
snaps into place (elbow tube is secured by tube
release button).
3. Clip the collection bag to the loops on the upper and
lower vacuum tubes (4).
