Appendix A. Configuration settings

The ThinkAgile VX7Y12 Series servers are shipped with the following hardware and software configurations:
The following changes to the default UEFI settings optimize the ThinkAgile VX7Y12 Series appliance
firmware. These changes are made in manufacturing, but are provided here for your reference.
To change these settings:
1. Power on the server.
2. Press F1 when prompted to display the Lenovo XClarity Provisioning Manager user interface.
3. Make the changes mentioned in this section.
4. Save all changes and restart the server for the changes to take effect.

Enable Direct Cache Access (DCA)
To enable DCA:
1. From the Lenovo XClarity Provisioning Manager , click UEFI Settings ➙ System Settings ➙
Processors.
2. From the DCA drop-down list, click Enable.
Set Power/Performance Bias
To set the power/performance biasA:
1. From the Lenovo XClarity Provisioning Manager , click UEFI Settings ➙ System Settings ➙ Power.
2. From the Power/Performance Bias drop-down list, click Max Performance.
Modify the Operating Mode
To modify the Operating Mode:
1. From the Lenovo XClarity Provisioning Manager , click UEFI Settings ➙ Operating Modes.
2. Modify the settings as follows:
Choose Operating Mode <Max Performance>
Memory Speed <Max Performance>
Memory Power Management <Disabled>
CPU P-state Control <Autonomous>
C1 Enhanced Mode <Disable>
UPI Link Frequency <Max Performance>
UPI Link Disable <Enable All Links>
Turbo Mode <Enable>
Energy Efficient Turbo <Enable>
C-States <Disable>
Power/Performance Bias <Platform Controlled>
Platform Controlled Type <Maximum Performance>
