The autom atic climate control con
trols the desired tem perature in the
vehicle interior. Heating, cooling
and air distribution (top, center,
bottom ) are controlled a utom atic
ally. The blow er speeds w ill be
varied autom atically depending on
the push button setting, operating
and tem perature conditions.
The autom atic climate control is
operational only if the engine is
running.
For adaptation to the w eather con
ditions various fu nctio ns can be
selected w ith the pushbuttons. Air
outlets 8 — 9 m ust then be adjusted
as required. B uttons 2 — 6 can be
pressed only individually. The
indicator lights in the individual
buttons come on if the buttons are
pressed and the vehicle lighting is
sw itched on.

The desired tem perature in the
vehicle interior can be set
w ith the selector wheel.
N orm ally only one adjustm ent
is necessary fo r the entire year.
If required to be altered, only
slight adjustm ents should be
made to this tem perature
setting.

"O FF" button:

Sim ultaneously the fresh air
supply to the vehicle interior is
cu t o ff. This position can be
briefly selected in the case of
odorous or dust annoyances or
when passing th rough an a u to
m atic car wash.

"A U T O -LO " button:
Normal vehicle operation.
This setting w ill provide heating
or cooling of the vehicle's
interior depending on the selec
tor wheel setting and the o u t
side temperature. If heating is
required, the fresh air supply
and the blow er w ill remain in

the o ff position until the
engine cooling w ater is slightly
warm ed up. Only then w ill
w arm air enter the interior of
the vehicle and be distributed
mainly to the fo otw e ll outlets.
A small am ount o f air is directed to
the w indshield to ensure defogging
under normal w eather conditions.
For the defogging o f the side
w indow s, air can be diverted from
the side outlets 9. The center outlet
8 remains closed during heating
operation.
If cooling o f the interior is re
quired, the blow er w ill start
im m ediately regardless of
engine tem perature. The air is
routed via center o utle t 8 into
the vehicle's interior and addi
tionally via the side outlets 9.
The blow er speed w ill be a uto
m atically reduced in several
steps in the heating or cooling
cycle as the interior tem per
ature approaches the preselected
tem perature on the tem perature
wheel 1.
