Possible cause
Something is
blocking the lens
from extending
at power up.
The card in the
memory slot is
not a memory
card or is not a
supported
memory card.
The camera does
not have a
memory card
installed.
The memory
card needs to be
formatted.
The memory
card is formatted
for a different
device such as
an MP3 player.
The memory
card is
corrupted.
Solution
Clear space for the lens so
it can extend.
Ensure that the memory
card is the proper type for
your camera. (See
Appendix B: Specifications
on page 105.)
Install a memory card.
Format the memory card
by using the
Format Card
option in the
Delete
menu of the
Playback
menu. (See
Delete
page 55.) This will delete
all data on the card.
Re-format the card by
using the
Format Card
option in the
Delete
menu of the
Playback
menu. (See
Delete
page 55.)
Replace the memory card.
