Thermostat Keys

The thermostat keys are used to:
— Set current day and time.
— Program times and setpoints for heating and cooling.
— Temporarily override program temperatures.
— Display present setting.

System and Fan Keys

Use the System and Fan keys on the thermostat to
select the system and fan settings.
1. Use the System key setting (Fig. 11) to control the
thermostat operation:
Heat: The thermostat controls the heating. When
the thermostat is calling for heat, a

Cool: The thermostat controls the cooling. When
the thermostat is calling for cool, a

Auto: The thermostat controls heating and cool-
ing, automatically switching from heat to
cool based on room temperature and
thermostat setpoints.
NOTE: Auto is an option on non-zoned systems
using W8635A,B or on zoned systems
using W8835.
Off: Both Heating and cooling are off.
Em Heat: The thermostat controls heating. When
thermostat is calling for emergency heat,
a
and Em Ht are indicated in display.
NOTE: Em Heat is an option on systems using
the W8635B or W8835 and configured
for a heat pump with auxiliary heat.

IMPORTANT
• The T8635L has an adjustable compressor
protection setting

heating when used with the heat pumps):
—when power is first established,
—when a power outage occurs or
—when the call has just ended and another
call is immediately attempted.
• "wait" is displayed during the compressor pro-
tection period.
• To override the compressor protection during
installation, refer to the Installer System Test
section.
• To permanently override the compressor pro-
tection, see Installer Setup No. 33 and change
the setting to 0. See Table 6.
