This section contains the hardware description and technical
specifications of the CPU 922 (also known as the R processor).
Details on programming can be found in the CPU 922 Programming
Guide.
You can use the CPU 922 in single and multiprocessor operation in
the S5-135U/155U CC (see Chapter 6). Up to four CPUs can be used.
The CPU 922 is particularly suitable for word processing (closed-loop
control and arithmetic calculation). Binary signal processing is also
possible.
The following program processing levels are possible:
• • Cyclic
• • Time-controlled (1 timebase)
• • Interrupt-driven (hardware interrupt).
The programming language is STEP 5.
The module is designed as a plug-in PCB of double Eurocard format.
The module provides the connection to the S5 bus via two backplane
connectors.
The front plate width is 1 1/3 standard plug-in stations.
