Life

normal
use
is
approximate
ly
one
year.
Using
the
camera
frequ ently
at
low
shutter
speeds,
at
the
"13"
setting
or
in extremely
cold
conditions takes

battery

The hattery requires checking
under the
following
circumstances:
I.
When
a
new
battery
is
loaded.
2.
If
th
e
shutter will
not
function when the
main
swikh
is
at
"i\".
3.
When
long
exposures
are
frequently
made.

When
lhe
<.:<tmera
is
used very
frequen
tly.
5.
When
the
camera is used
after
it
has been
s
tored l"or an excessively long period of
tim
e.
6.
When
the
<.:amera
is
used
in extr
e
mely
cold conditions.
To
ch
eck the
power level
of
the
banery, first
set the main switch
to
the
",\"
position.
lt

cannot be
checked
in the "L" position.
Then
press
the
battery
ch eck
button
on
th
e top
of
the
camera for two
to three
seconds. If,
while
pressing
t
h
e
battery
check button
,
the LED on
the top of
the camera blinks
on
and off
rapidly, battery
power
is
sufficient.
If it
blinks
o nly
slowly, twice
per second,
for
instance,
or not
at
all, the
power
level is
insufficient and
the
batterv
should
be
replaced.
It
should
also
be r~placed if
the
flashing frequen cy
changes
during
the
few
se<.:onds
the
<.:hc<.:k
uutton
is
depressed,
indicating
the
bat
te1y
is near exhaustion.
I
t
is
a
good
idea to carry
a
spare
bnttery
when
you
expect
to
use
the
camern
con
t
inuously
for a
long
time,
such
as on
a
vacation, when
you
p lan
to take
a
number
o
f"
tim
e
exposures
on
bulb, or when the
camera
is to
be
u
sed
in
very
cold
conditions.
