9.4.12 I
S interfaces
IIS1 is a bi-directional IIS port of the Mozart IC.
IIS1 is also connected to the Front-end of the CD Recording
Drive Mechanism (also called CD R/W BASIC ENGINE).
Both Front-end CDR-drive and Mozart IC can generate the
BCLK (Bit-clock) and the WCLK = Wordclock (the Left/right
clock). The IIS1 signals have the extentions Freya. So IIS
_WS_FREYA; IIS _BCLK_FREYA: IIS_DATAI_FREYA and
IIS_DATAO_FREYA.
IIS_data-out is used when recording. IIS_data_in can be
used for playback from front-end CDR-drive.
IIS2 is output only, and connected to the DAC (pos 7311).
Audio content can be from either CDR or CD module when
used in changer mode (only for double-decks). The IIS2
signals have the extentions DAC. So IIS_WS_DAC;
IIS_BCLK_DAC and IIS_DATAO_DAC.
In DJ mode, IIS2 only contains audio data from the CD
module.
In DJ mode, IIS1 output is used to connect a separate DAC
through connector 1215 (IIS_DATAO_FREYA).
For single-decks, IIS2 contains CDR audio.
IIS3 is input only. IIS3 is connected to the ADC (pos 7312).
This input is used during analog recording (external or
internal) and during monitor mode. The IIS3 signals have the
extension ADC. So IIS_WS_ADC; IIS_BCLK_ADC
and IIS_DATAI_ADC.
IIS4 is input only and can be used for microphone input. The
IIS4 signals have the extension EXTERNAL.
So IIS_WS_EXT; IIS_BCLK_EXT and IIS_DATAI_EXT.
ADC is not foreseen on Mozart Main board.

9.4.13 EBU Interface
EBUIN1 is connected to the CD module for playback.
The signal has the extension CD10. So EBU_IN_CD10.
EBUIN2 is connected to the CDR module for playback.
The signal has the extension FREYA.
So EBU_IN_FREYA.
EBUIN3 is connected to Optical Input. The signal has the
extension OPTICAL. So EBU_OPT_IN
EBUIN4 is connected to Digital Input of the I/O board.
The signal has the extension EXTERNAL.
So EBU_EXT_IN
EBU_DIG_OPT_OUT is common digital output. In
changer mode (only for double-decks), this signal can
contain digital audio from CD or CDRW module. In DJ
mode EBUOUT4 contains only CD audio.

CDRW Interface
Mozart interfaces with the CDRW module by means of a 36-
pole connector pos 1201.
Following functions are present :
Supply of 5V and 12V
UART as described in 2.4.7
System clock (FREYA_CLK)
FREYA_EAN is used for SW update of the CDR module.
Low during normal operation.
FREYA_MS is input for Mozart and tells if Mozart or CDR
module generates BCLK and WCLK for IIS I/F
RESET FREYA is reset input of the CDR module and
controlled by Mozart
Circuit Description

EBU input
FREYA_MUTE : input for Mozart
FREYA_ATTI : tells Mozart that current audio data is
recorded with Attenuation
FREYA_DEEP : tells Mozart that current audio data is
recorded with Pre-emphasis
FREYA_FLAG : indicates valid IIS data.

CD Interface
Interface (pos 1205) to the CD module has following
functions.
CD10_SDA, CD10_SCL, CD10_RAB, CD10_SILD form
a 4-wire control interface to the CD module

EBU Conversions
9.7.1
Outputs
Mozart EBU outputs have 0V-3V3 levels.
For EMC reasons a 0.5V pp signal is required on the
connector 1203.
Transistor circuit 7011 converts 3.3 levels to 0.5V levels. This
is only valid when the signal is adapted with a 120E resistor.
Without termination the output level is 1V pk.

9.7.2
Inputs
For the same reason, EBU Inputs from CD module and I/O
board have a 0.5pp level. Buffer circuits 7215, 7213 and
7211 convert a 0.5 level to 3V3, since Mozart needs 0V..3V3
levels.
