Before you start installation
The information in this section prepares you for installation.
If you are installing only a floating license server, skip the rest of this chapter and
go directly to
Chapter 14 , "Setting Up a Floating License Server," on page 197
To prepare for installation:
1. Be sure you have the documentation and media listed below:
• Agilent 89600 Series Software installation CD.
• Installation and Service Guide for Agilent 89600 Series.
• If your analyzer requires LAN, GPIB, or IEEE 1394 interfaces, you need
your computer's documentation for installation of PCI adapters, PCMCIA
cards, or GPIB cards.
• VXI Measurement Hardware - If the VXI measurement hardware includes
an 89605, E2730, or E2731 module, you may need the Calibration disks for
the module.
• Installation and setup information for a source or non-VXI measurement
hardware you will be using with 89600 software.
2. Be sure your desktop or laptop PC satisfies the following minimum
requirements.
