2. FRONT PANEL FACILITIES
O POWER SWITCH
Depress this switch to lurn power on to the tuner. Because
this switch is connected to the secondary winding of the
power transformer, power is still supplied 10 the primary
winding even when the power switch is returned to the
STAND-BY ( r
) position. Always unplug the power cord
from the wall socket when the tuner is not going to be used
f o r a l o n g t i m e .
o MUTTNG OFF SWTTCH
T h i s s w i t c h s h o u l d n o r m a l l y b e i n t h e o u t p o s i t i o n . T h i s
activates the muting circuit to suppress the noise between
stations when tuning from one FM broadcast to another.
Depress this switch to turn off the muting circuit when you
want to tune in a weak station that would be suppressed if
the muting circuit were left on. In this position, even stereo
b r o a d c a s t s w i l l b e r e c e i v e d i n m o n o . T h e M U T I N G O F F
switch has no effect on AM reception.
O SIGNAL INDICATOR
These LEDs light to indicate the strength of the signal being
received.
@ TTU STEREO INDICATOR
This indicatôr lights when an FM stereo broadcast rs re-
ceived.
O FREOUENCY DISPLAY

I t c h a n g e s i n 5 O k H z s t e p s d u r i n g F M r e c e p t i o n a n d l k H z
steps during AM reception.

FM: depress to receive FM broadcasts
AM: depress to receive AM broadcasts

U s e t h i s k n o b t o t u n e i n r a d i o s t a t i o n s . T u r n t o t h e r i g h t

) to raise the reception frequency and turn to the left
( O
) to lower the reception frequency.
@ aru BAND SELECTOR
Use this to select the MW and LW broadcasting bands.
When the switch is at the out position, MW stations can be
received,. when at the in position,
LW stations can be re-
ceived.
NOTE:
This switch can be opereted only when the AM switch is de-
pressed.
